Social Golf With Arana Leagues Social Golf, Beerwah, Sunshine Coast. Australia
This morning we headed to Beerwah, which is a thriving small country town and home to Australia Zoo. Located just an hour drive north of Brisbane we headed to Beerwah Golf Club, nestled at the base of the stunning Glasshouse Mountains on the Sunshine Coast, which offers a golf course that will challenge the most avid golfers and please those out for an enjoyable social day. Today was the Annual Arana Hills Social Golf Memorial Cup Day.
A bad day of golf is always better than a good day at work. With Saturday hitting temperatures of 40 degrees, I was glad for the cloud cover which kept temperatures down. Kim came along to take some photos in-between playing on Facebook. There’s no one single best way to enjoy the game of golf.
The Memorial Day is played as a 2 Man Ambrose. Each player hits off the tee, the best shot is selected and the other player picks up their ball and place it, within one handspan, alongside the best ball. Each person then hits a second shot from the same spot. The best shot is again selected. This continues until the ball is in the hole. On the putting green the best ball is marked and the other balls are played from this position.
Last year my partner and me played a great all-round game and won the Cup last year. This year we both drove the ball extremely well to suffer in our short game and finish 4th this year. Beerwah Golf Club is re-noun for being “the friendliest Club on the Sunshine Coast”
Golf is one of the world’s most played sports. Whether for recreation or competition, there’s something in it for everyone.
